Spring Program

On Friday Samuel's school had their Spring Program. For the past few weeks, every time we mentioned the program to him, he'd look all excited. He'd tell me and Ernie all the time that we needed to practice our songs (and then he'd get mad when we didn't know the words to the songs he was singing.) So when the time came for the program, I kind of thought he'd be right up there next to the director, helping lead the other kids. Nope. As it turns out, he didn't sing one word of one song. He just kind of sat on the stage and looked around.

To be fair, the program wasn't until almost 7:00 at night, and Samuel goes to bed at 7:30, so he was really tired. Also, I think he wasn't expecting the audience. They've been practicing at school for a few weeks now and it has always been in an empty gym. I think he was thrown by the fact that the gym was suddenly full of parents (with lots of flashing cameras.)

Here's a short video of "He's Got the Whole World in his Hands." It's not the greatest video since there were a lot of people there, but you can see Samuel kind of in the middle of the screen. He's wearing a blue shirt. And doing an excellent impression of The Boy Who Sat Still (something he rarely graces us with at home.)

Botanic Gardens

A few weekends ago, Meg and Lilly came to visit. We went to an exhibit at the Botanic Gardens called "Suess on the Loose" which had some Dr. Suess inspired activities and play areas. Here are some pictures:

No idea what kind of flowers these are, but they were pretty:

Aren't they so cute?
