Best Invention Ever

As a follow up to my post a few weeks ago about how washing Samuel's hair had turned into a giant scream-fest, I wanted to post this product that we found:

It is awesome! The yellow part is made of some kind of rubber so it can be pressed right up against his head and no water gets in his eyes. Bath time for the past week has been so much less stressful! I got ours at Walmart for about $3.00.

In other news, Samuel was at the doctor yesterday for a check-up and he now weighs 29 pounds and is 33 inches tall. He's in the 25% for height and 75% for weight. Apparently those yo-baby yogurts are a little too good!

Monkeying Around

The main branch of the Fort Wayne library has a really great play space for young kids. Samuel loves the train table, and this little house that you can go in and out of:

He also likes to hang the apples on the tree there:

Yesterday afternoon Samuel found a little stuffed monkey, put it down on a picture frame, covered with an old curtain, and said "night-night." It was a nice change to see him being gentle with a toy, because usually he is all about throwing things. I thought for sure he was going to pick the monkey up and throw him around, but the monkey is still sleeping on the picture frame 24 hours later, so Samuel either forgot about the monkey, or figured he was very tired.

Pool Party

Last weekend we went to a BBQ at our friends' Greg and Darlene's house. They have an inflatable pool in their backyard and their daughter was very excited to have a pool party, despite the fact that it was about 60 degrees outside. They had the coolest little floating toy that Samuel played in. It looked exactly like his cozy coupe car (both of them!). Here he is having fun at Adora's pool party:

Our Little Helper

Samuel loves to help us out when we are working on different things. We let him feed the dogs each night because he loves to scoop the food out and put it in their bowls. He also loves to help Ernie when he is using any kind of tool. Here are some pictures of Samuel feeding the dogs, and helping Ernie put a bookshelf together:

Playdate with the Pilkingtons

Today my friend Casey and her kids Helen and James came over to play. Casey and I have known each other for a LONG time (since 1990!) Samuel really enjoyed watching the older kids play. When he napped, we made pretzels (with a super easy recipe I just found. If anyone wants it, just let me know.) The kids had fun making and eating their pretzels, and playing outside in our sandbox.

Visit with the Zuccos

Ernie's sister Bridget and her family came to visit us over the weekend. We all had a lot of fun hanging out, eating, watching movies, going to the pool, and playing games. Samuel got his first really bad cut this weekend at the pool (he hit his mouth on the side), as you can see on his chin in the pictures below.

Here are some pictures of Samuel with his aunt, uncle, and cousins.

Artwork

Here is some artwork Samuel made at his new daycare center:

His teacher told us he "especially likes art projects that use glue." As long as he doesn't grow up to be the kid that eats paste, that sounds fine to us.

Squeaky Clean

Here's Samuel getting his hair washed in the bath tonight:

Lately he screams bloody murder when we try to rinse the shampoo out of his hair. If anyone knows of any creative solutions, I'd love to hear them!
