Action-packed Kid

There is rarely a second in the day when Samuel is awake when he is not running, jumping, or climbing. We have a gym area in our basement which he loves. He likes to jump on the mini-trampoline and climb on the treadmill. Here he is on the trampoline:

He also LOVES to wrestle. When Ernie gets home from work, the two of them wrestle in our dining room (we have no furniture in there yet, and I'm pretty sure Samuel will be sad when we finally do.)

Sometimes Samuel will just stand in the kitchen and say "go, go go!" and then take off. Our new house has a loop he can run from the kitchen to the front hallway to the dining room and back into the kitchen. If only I could figure out how to get some of that energy for myself!

Red Sox Fans

Ernie loves the Red Sox, and Samuel loves anything Ernie loves. Here they are wearing their Red Sox baseball hats:

I'm Dreaming of a White Breakfast

Samuel's favorite food for almost a year now has been yogurt. If we would let him, he would eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but we try to limit him to 2 containers a day. Lately he has started asking for yogurt all the time. He calls it "ah-whoa" or "whoa-whoa". The past few mornings when he first wakes up, we hear him in his room talking to himself about yogurt. Then we we go get him up, the first words out of his mouth are "ah-whoa?," like "can I have some yogurt for breakfast?"

Sometimes during the day he'll have a funny conversation with himself that goes "ah-whoa?" "noooooo" and he shakes his head and smiles. He's a funny kid.

Here is the funny kid eating some of Ernie's Father's Day chocolate cream pie:

e-i-e-i-o

On Saturday we went to visit my friends from college, Sara and Melissa. Sara lives on a farm so we all met there with our kids. Samuel had a great time looking at the animals and running around in Sara's yard.

Playing Outside

Today it was absolutely beautiful here so we played outside almost all afternoon. Here are some pictures of Samuel playing with a bowl of water, a paintbrush, and some cups. (Thanks Jenny for this idea!) He was completely drenched by the end of this activity, but he had a great time.

This is the bowl we always use when we make popcorn, so every now and then he would turn to me with a huge smile on his face and say "pop-pop" which is how he says popcorn.

And here he is posing in his stroller before we went for a walk:

Pint-sized Picasso

Samuel has seemed very interested in coloring lately. Here he is coloring with those special Colorwonder markers that only color on certain paper. He also really likes to take the tops on and off the markers, and to put the markers in and out of the bag.

Here is his latest masterpiece. I think art school is definitely in his future!

Bubbles

Samuel got a cool toy in the mail today from my mom - a bubble machine where you press a handle to make bubbles. It's great because it's a lot less messy than regular bubbles where you dip a wand into the solution. Samuel normally likes to take the wand and fling it all around the room, resulting in no bubbles but lots of mess. This toy let him make some bubbles himself.
